A Busy December!!

On Tuesday, December 13, my "first" niece was born!! She is technically not my first niece but she is the first niece on my side of the family.  Jake and Sabra had Hannah Jo Allred around 6pm that night!  I was so happy to be able to be there for her birth.  She was a tiny little girl at only 4lbs 8ozs, but she was 18" long!!  It was amazing at the instant connection you feel with your siblings kids.  I have never been a kid person and didn't really care to be around them unless I had to be.  I have really only liked a couple kids up to this point but little Hannah sure overtook them right away!  I just wanted to give Sabra HUGE props for doing it all natural.  Although I do have to say it freaked me out a little when I went down to her room to check on things right when she was giving birth.  I don't think I will be as tough as her, or the many others out there that do it all natural.  The whole experience of seeing Jake and Sabra with their daughter made me quite emotional, due to pregnancy hormones.  It was like a HUGE reality check that this will be Bush and I in just 3 months... or less!  Although like anything else we will just take it as it comes and try our best to figure it out.  This is one of the cutest pictures of a newborn I have ever seen (although I am biased)!

Hannah came out with red hair, which is funny just because Jake and Sabra are not red heads.  Jake joked and said maybe Sabra and I got too close while she was still pregnant and my babies red hair transferred over! So we will have to see if Bush and I have a dark haired baby!

On another note I am so excited for Christmas this year!  I basically get two full days to celebrate... We will be here on Christmas day spending it with Bush's parents then that night we will head out to Provo where one of my closest friends in the entire world, Kimmy, is throwing me a baby shower on the 26th!! Then we will be celebrating Christmas with my family that evening at Jake and Sabra's!!  I am super excited for the baby shower because I get to see Kimmy and my other friend Kimber, plus I get to have some other close friends and some family there to celebrate me, ha ha!!  Oh and I get to spend some time with my hubby, which is rare these days with him living at Nate's 10 days straight and only being home for 4 days.  Sometimes his job really sucks but I am still very grateful to have a steady job with insurance.

I also had my last week at H Dentistry in Parachute this month.  I was super sad to leave but Bush and I felt that driving that far and on those bad roads during the winter and being in my 3rd trimester was not a good idea.  I will miss working there very much.  It has been the best work place I have ever been a part of!  The staff was amazing and there was never any drama, ever!! So to anyone who needs dental work or a cleaning I HIGHLY recommend H Dentistry!! I really got to know my patients and that was amazing in itself.

I sure just love this time of year even though I don't feel like I have really had anytime to celebrate it.  We have been so busy between traveling, working, our dogs and family but feel so truly blessed for our many blessings!!  I hope everyone enjoys their holidays and always remembers the Christ is the reason for the season!!  Merry Christmas!!

IT'S A GIRL!!!

Image Detail

So on October 25th we found out that we are having a

GIRL!!!  Bush had a pretty good idea that it was a girl

and he felt pretty good about himself that he was right!!

Everything on the ultrasound looked good (or so they

said) so that is good!  Now we are officially looking at

names and getting the babies room ready... which is not

a cheap thing to do.  But oh well it is worth it!!

More Cruise

We then went to Ensenada Mexico.  That was a bit of a disappointment.  No good beaches and it smelt like pee.  They did have a cool blow hole though.  I could have sworn we had pictures, I will post them when I find them.  Then we had a day at sea.  Which was basically they parked the boat and sat there.  But the bright side of being sea sick all day was that we got to see Dolphins swimming.  We saw hundreds of them!  Ok so the below pictures were not of dolphins but a ton of sea lions.

Then after our few days at sea, we headed home.  It was a long trip with a lot jammed into it but good none the less.  I was really glad to be on land, even though I was pretty sure it kept moving for the next few days.  For anyone out there that wants to go on a cruise just pay the extra money and go on a better cruise line than Carnival!!

Mexico Cruise

So after the Half Marathon we headed to Vegas for a day and then headed for California.  We stayed at a hotel right by Disneyland.  Which was a bad idea, cause I really wanted to go but couldn't because being pregnant you can't go on rollercoasters.  That is so stupid in my opinion, ok maybe not but it still sucked.  Then the day after that we headed out on our cruise.  This was our ship:

Bush found all the off shore rigs super neat so we got a picture of one.

Our first stop on the trip was Catalina Island.  It is a small little island that basically you can only drive golf carts around in.  We rented a couple golf carts and toured the city.  That was pretty fun.  Some of the golf carts people owned there were pretty neat.  The one picture was like a classic car golf cart.

Bush's Half Marathon

So we went on a cruise to Mexico the second week in September.  It was a fairly fun trip.  I am sure it would have been better if I wasn't pregnant.  It was a week and a half of a lot of stuff jammed together.  the trip started off in Price, UT.  Well actually Huntington, UT for a half marathon.  Bush and I started training for it back in June but after I found out I was pregnant I stopped training.  Bush kept training and had only ran 8 miles total up until the race.  A half marathon is 13.1 miles.  Brian Weirich took my place and ran with Bush.  They did awesome!! Bush ran it in 1 hour and 53 minutes.  He took 24th out of around 160 people.  When Kenna and I met them at the end of the race poor Bush had blood on his shirt.  I was very confused as to why but soon found out that his shirt rubbed his nipples so raw they bled.  I use to have a picture of it but I don't now.  I will post pictures when I can get some from Kenna.

Our New Addition

Well as most of you know Bush and I are expecting our first baby in March!! We found out back in July and had our first appointment in August.  We decided to be fun and tell our parents in a unique manner.  Luckily for us Bush has his Birthday in August... So we had a friend of mine from Dental Hygiene school make us a cake to announce the news.  So below is the cake.  We had everyone close their eyes and I put the cake down and then they all found out together!! Although Bob did know a couple weeks before hand, Bush spilt the beans.

We will find out what we are having next month.
I can say that being pregnant is no fun so far.  I have been sick constantly for the last month and a half.  I even had to go to the ER and get IV fluids once.  The doctor gave me a standing order to go get more if I needed to.  We just got back from a cruise and that was not nearly as much fun as it could have been.  So note to others, do not go on a cruise when you are pregnant!!

Life in Battlement Mesa

So I have been working in Battlement Mesa, CO for the last month or so and I have been loving it!! I work for H Dentistry and I just love working here!  I actually do not dread going to work or beg for the day to be over as soon as possible.  I must be getting older and changing because I NEVER felt that way about Dental Hygiene before!  Bush and I were talking today and thought maybe we should move to Alaska in 2 years or so just for fun!! Ha Ha Ha!! For those who know us well they will laugh (probably out loud) at this because they know we love to get ideas and run with them for awhile and then just do nothing... usually.  We did finally buy a house like we have been saying we wanted to for a long time.  I sure hope Misty reads this and is chuckling :)  Anyways I am working a lot right now but will go down to just two days a week mainly on Thursdays and Fridays.  I will be joining a Tae Bo class on Thursday nights just for fun and to exercise of course.  I have put on some unwanted weight, of course when is weight ever wanted?  Except in Shay's case and being prego and all!! I am excited for the future, I don't know why but just feel like things are a comin' and things will be a changin'... I just wanted to say it like that! I am also happy to say that our good friends Brian and Kenna Weirich are moving to Rangely and we are so excited to have them around and of course steal them from Jake and Sabra!! Back to Battlement Mesa... I do enjoy it here, I even have my own room and own bathroom!  Which is a million times better than sleeping on the futon!! I do miss Bush, Toby and Feebs while I am gone though but it is kinda nice not having to do anything (yes I am a lazy person sometimes)!  So I have decided I need to get back on the exercise wagon, I think that writing it down and maybe using this as a journal will be the most helpful.  I am hoping it will keep me more responsible in my training and goal of losing weight.  Anyone want to join me in this?  I am the absolute worst at dieting, any tips?  I don't want to do any crazy dieting just enough to lose some weight and fit comfortably in my jeans again.  I look back at how I was a year or so ago and I sure did not appreciate how fit I was and how much better I looked.  Someday, someday I will be that way again and hopefully better!!

The Dirty Dash 2011

This past weekend we went out to Provo, UT (which we do fairly often) and did one of the more funner things I can think of.  Yes I have really good english in that last sentence.  Bush and I feel like we are so lucky we have some AWESOME/AMAZING friends who are willing to do about any crazy thing we can think of.  Back in October I ran a 6K with one of my good friends, Shay Dye, and she told me about this race called the Dirty Dash.  I did some research and I fell in love with the idea.  I really wanted to do.  So Bush said he would do it with me and then I decided that we needed to do it with a group.  I called Jake and Sabra and talked to them about it and they graciously said they would do it, even though it was on their Anniversary!! How awesome is that??!! Then I asked Nate to do it with us as a family affair, he of course said sure, because he is just an easy going person.  Then we decided that we have more "siblings" than that and we asked Brian and Kenna if they wanted to and of course they said yes!! And then we asked Dane and Kalee and they also said yes!! We signed up in February and the rest signed up a month or two later! Part of the race is dressing in costume so the day before the race Kenna, Sabra and myself went to Savers and DI and found '80's workout wear.  This is the before picture of the clothes...

We made a lot of cuts and adjustments to the outfits.  The boys liked to idea of having short shorts and seat bands and belly shirts so the next picture shows that...

I need to mention that Nate couldn't make it so Dane's friend Travis was willing to step in at last minute, truly last minute as it was around 10pm the night before that he joined our team!

We made Jake the leader and he led us in some typical '80's warm-ups and stretches

And the race began, we wanted in the front to make sure they got out picture

And the end of the AWESOME race!  The only crappy part of the race was being sick with a cold and not being able to run very much and keep up with the majority of the group, so next year no one can be sick or injured!! We had 4 of us with these problems but I do have to say the even though Brian had a cold he kicked all our butts, probably due to being an amazing runner who just tried out for the Olympics.  Which he did not make but in my opinion they are missing out!!

I want to say THANK YOU to all of our "family" for being so awesome and doing this with us!! It sounds like everyone wants to make this a yearly tradition now!!

The Outside of our Home

Some day I will post pictures of our house with all our stuff in it but that would require me having some down time and being able to really clean.  Because let's face it no one wants to see pictures of a dirty house.  But here are some picture of the outside and our handy work at gardening and flower planting.  And of course the dogs, which by the way sure seem like the town black labs because everyone knows them and associates us with our dogs!

This why our dogs are so well known in town.  Feebs is the "floating" dog and Toby has his nose through the hole in the fence.

Oh Toby!!

So our dogs have a lot personality!  Toby just has to be where we are at, no matter where we are at.  So Toby would be tired and this is where he went to sleep..
And just the other day as I was showering he decided that he needed to be in there as well.  He wanted to eat my body wash so he jumped in the shower with me and got all soaked.  And what is even more funny is that he did twice!!

Montana Jacks

PDT Montana Jack Scaler
So this is a picture of a Montana Jack Scaler... the best instrument ever invented for Hygienists!! Today as I was working and using this instrument I realized how much I LOVE this little sharp scraper, especially when it is sharp and I don't have to hardly work at all to get that nasty calculus off of teeth.  So Thank You to who ever invented this wonderful instrument!!  Oh yeah just in case anyone didn't know I am working again.  I am working in Roosevelt a couple days a week and finally this go around with Dental Hygiene I am enjoying myself.  So my education has finally paid off!!

Our New Kitchen!!

OK I know this is totally 100% biased but we have the most beautiful kitchen ever!!  Or I should say we will have!!  So here are the beginning photos of this beautiful kitchen!!

This is the new kitchen/dining room floor.

It is a Hickory hardwood floor.  I love how much it varies from piece to piece!

And this is the kitchen!!

It is a Rustic Cherry with a Harvest Bronze glaze.

I love the way it is brown but you can still see the red, which the flooring has red streaks in it so they compliment each other well!! I can't wait till we get the countertops and back splash done!!

And we are going to sign up for a half marathon in September that is also in Utah!  So we will be doing a lot of running for our exercise for the next 6 months!! Wish us luck!!
