Life in Battlement Mesa

So I have been working in Battlement Mesa, CO for the last month or so and I have been loving it!! I work for H Dentistry and I just love working here!  I actually do not dread going to work or beg for the day to be over as soon as possible.  I must be getting older and changing because I NEVER felt that way about Dental Hygiene before!  Bush and I were talking today and thought maybe we should move to Alaska in 2 years or so just for fun!! Ha Ha Ha!! For those who know us well they will laugh (probably out loud) at this because they know we love to get ideas and run with them for awhile and then just do nothing... usually.  We did finally buy a house like we have been saying we wanted to for a long time.  I sure hope Misty reads this and is chuckling :)  Anyways I am working a lot right now but will go down to just two days a week mainly on Thursdays and Fridays.  I will be joining a Tae Bo class on Thursday nights just for fun and to exercise of course.  I have put on some unwanted weight, of course when is weight ever wanted?  Except in Shay's case and being prego and all!! I am excited for the future, I don't know why but just feel like things are a comin' and things will be a changin'... I just wanted to say it like that! I am also happy to say that our good friends Brian and Kenna Weirich are moving to Rangely and we are so excited to have them around and of course steal them from Jake and Sabra!! Back to Battlement Mesa... I do enjoy it here, I even have my own room and own bathroom!  Which is a million times better than sleeping on the futon!! I do miss Bush, Toby and Feebs while I am gone though but it is kinda nice not having to do anything (yes I am a lazy person sometimes)!  So I have decided I need to get back on the exercise wagon, I think that writing it down and maybe using this as a journal will be the most helpful.  I am hoping it will keep me more responsible in my training and goal of losing weight.  Anyone want to join me in this?  I am the absolute worst at dieting, any tips?  I don't want to do any crazy dieting just enough to lose some weight and fit comfortably in my jeans again.  I look back at how I was a year or so ago and I sure did not appreciate how fit I was and how much better I looked.  Someday, someday I will be that way again and hopefully better!!

The Dirty Dash 2011

This past weekend we went out to Provo, UT (which we do fairly often) and did one of the more funner things I can think of.  Yes I have really good english in that last sentence.  Bush and I feel like we are so lucky we have some AWESOME/AMAZING friends who are willing to do about any crazy thing we can think of.  Back in October I ran a 6K with one of my good friends, Shay Dye, and she told me about this race called the Dirty Dash.  I did some research and I fell in love with the idea.  I really wanted to do.  So Bush said he would do it with me and then I decided that we needed to do it with a group.  I called Jake and Sabra and talked to them about it and they graciously said they would do it, even though it was on their Anniversary!! How awesome is that??!! Then I asked Nate to do it with us as a family affair, he of course said sure, because he is just an easy going person.  Then we decided that we have more "siblings" than that and we asked Brian and Kenna if they wanted to and of course they said yes!! And then we asked Dane and Kalee and they also said yes!! We signed up in February and the rest signed up a month or two later! Part of the race is dressing in costume so the day before the race Kenna, Sabra and myself went to Savers and DI and found '80's workout wear.  This is the before picture of the clothes...

We made a lot of cuts and adjustments to the outfits.  The boys liked to idea of having short shorts and seat bands and belly shirts so the next picture shows that...

I need to mention that Nate couldn't make it so Dane's friend Travis was willing to step in at last minute, truly last minute as it was around 10pm the night before that he joined our team!

We made Jake the leader and he led us in some typical '80's warm-ups and stretches

And the race began, we wanted in the front to make sure they got out picture

And the end of the AWESOME race!  The only crappy part of the race was being sick with a cold and not being able to run very much and keep up with the majority of the group, so next year no one can be sick or injured!! We had 4 of us with these problems but I do have to say the even though Brian had a cold he kicked all our butts, probably due to being an amazing runner who just tried out for the Olympics.  Which he did not make but in my opinion they are missing out!!

I want to say THANK YOU to all of our "family" for being so awesome and doing this with us!! It sounds like everyone wants to make this a yearly tradition now!!

The Outside of our Home

Some day I will post pictures of our house with all our stuff in it but that would require me having some down time and being able to really clean.  Because let's face it no one wants to see pictures of a dirty house.  But here are some picture of the outside and our handy work at gardening and flower planting.  And of course the dogs, which by the way sure seem like the town black labs because everyone knows them and associates us with our dogs!

This why our dogs are so well known in town.  Feebs is the "floating" dog and Toby has his nose through the hole in the fence.
