The Dirty Dash 2011

This past weekend we went out to Provo, UT (which we do fairly often) and did one of the more funner things I can think of.  Yes I have really good english in that last sentence.  Bush and I feel like we are so lucky we have some AWESOME/AMAZING friends who are willing to do about any crazy thing we can think of.  Back in October I ran a 6K with one of my good friends, Shay Dye, and she told me about this race called the Dirty Dash.  I did some research and I fell in love with the idea.  I really wanted to do.  So Bush said he would do it with me and then I decided that we needed to do it with a group.  I called Jake and Sabra and talked to them about it and they graciously said they would do it, even though it was on their Anniversary!! How awesome is that??!! Then I asked Nate to do it with us as a family affair, he of course said sure, because he is just an easy going person.  Then we decided that we have more "siblings" than that and we asked Brian and Kenna if they wanted to and of course they said yes!! And then we asked Dane and Kalee and they also said yes!! We signed up in February and the rest signed up a month or two later! Part of the race is dressing in costume so the day before the race Kenna, Sabra and myself went to Savers and DI and found '80's workout wear.  This is the before picture of the clothes...

We made a lot of cuts and adjustments to the outfits.  The boys liked to idea of having short shorts and seat bands and belly shirts so the next picture shows that...

I need to mention that Nate couldn't make it so Dane's friend Travis was willing to step in at last minute, truly last minute as it was around 10pm the night before that he joined our team!

We made Jake the leader and he led us in some typical '80's warm-ups and stretches

And the race began, we wanted in the front to make sure they got out picture

And the end of the AWESOME race!  The only crappy part of the race was being sick with a cold and not being able to run very much and keep up with the majority of the group, so next year no one can be sick or injured!! We had 4 of us with these problems but I do have to say the even though Brian had a cold he kicked all our butts, probably due to being an amazing runner who just tried out for the Olympics.  Which he did not make but in my opinion they are missing out!!

I want to say THANK YOU to all of our "family" for being so awesome and doing this with us!! It sounds like everyone wants to make this a yearly tradition now!!
